Today we are witness to a resurgent growth in religious doctrine of all faiths not just Islam. Today we are witness to the subversion of reason by unreason; irrationality replacing rationality, religion is on the rise & at its back the future for humanity, human kind’s existence quite literally is in question. Given we live in modern times with modern technology, the thought that religious minded zealots & those ‘moderate’ fundamentalists may acquire modern weapons of mass destruction ought to fill all sane and rational beings with dread. So it is hard to believe that we live in the 21st Century, with this lingering superstitious belief system hanging over us all & like the sword of Damocles waiting to fall upon our unsuspecting collective heads. Today humanity is lingering tentatively on the edge of an abyss & the resurgence in religion (the fundamentalist doctrines of Christianity, Islam, Catholicism et.al,) will seemingly be enough to take us over that edge.
The problem thus stated is religion, the problem is that all faith systems compete with one another, the problem is that each lay claim to a higher truth & a greater knowledge over & above that of its competitors, but also of humanity itself. Each claims to be the true path to enlightenment & salvation, each are thus battling for the hearts & minds of men & women every where. Yet each system is an ideology born of man intent upon laying claim to a territory not only of this Earth but also that of heaven itself. An ideology constructed by ancient polities contrived as a mechanism of social control & repression, where by the elites could explain the world in which they lived through interpretation, thus asserting authority & maintaining the social order.
As with all ideologies religion has within it the seed of conflict & war, wherever men & women compete ideologically either politically or religiously or a mix of the two there will be conflict there will be war. All these competing systems are incompatible with another as each lays claim to doctrines & truths which are incompatible with other systems of religious belief. The adherents of these belief systems are themselves the witting & or unwitting foot soldiers of their particular doctrinal tenets, as they accept without question the doctrines of their faith.
Thus the continual assertion that having belief in a supernatural being will some how save us is perverse at best, the only way humanity will be saved is by dropping the notion of ‘God’, ‘Allah’ or other. Like the gods of
Our salvation will not be found in a book or in a system of religious belief & faith; our salvation rests within us & only within ourselves as a species. This continual myth that we can only be saved by adopting a religious doctrine is perverse as it is extreme & very dangerous for our continued survival. & in this modern era of advance technologies & WMD, religious ideology whether Christian & or other will be the doom of our species. As Humanity lingers on the edge of the abyss those of faith, the adherents- apologists to this religious dogma are themselves the willing apostles to take us over that edge.
Religion in any guise is therefore nothing more than a mere superstition, an ideology set for one purpose that of power & control over the many on behalf of the few, simply put religion it is contrived hokum in that a belief in a supposed God & or other should go the way of all the former plural religions which once dominated the minds of men & consigned to the dust bin of history.
