The Lincolnshire Commentator fully supports our armed forces in particular those currently serving in Afghanistan, & I shall be there at the up & coming Parade of the 2nd Bn. Royal Anglian ('The Poachers'), who will be marching through Lincoln on the 12th of March. I notice though in the comments section of the story run by the Lincolnshire Echo 'Join Poachers on Parade' (11/03/2009) pertaining to this event that there those out there who for their own ideologically motivated reasoning are incapable of lending their support to our brave troops, & would rather disparage those soldiers service & commitment, an echo of Luton? Yet when one understands the true nature & dynamic of the so called anti war sentiment & movement it should not come as a surprise, neverthelesss it still angers & disgusts.
Thus it remains a pity that those who are against the war can not see the tragic irony of their own so called principled stand, in that their own so called anti war stance lends support to those who do seek 'ill' upon those who serve with great courage & integrity this country. Whether one supports the war or not it is not impossible to distinguish between a duty obligated to by the soldier & the politics of the politicians who so order them to do, if one so chooses. It also tells us more about those who choose not distinguish & their so called principles.
